Celebrate National Preservation Month with architectural trivia

Compete to win a beautiful custom-designed Unity Temple wood model! Pre-order the kit and save 25%. (The Contest ends May 29, 2020.)

Oak Park, IL:  Every year in May, organizations around the country celebrate National Preservation Month to promote historic places and heritage tourism that demonstrate the social and economic benefits of historic preservation.

In celebration of National Preservation Month, Unity Temple Restoration Foundation (UTRF) in Oak Park, IL is partnering with the Little Building Co. of Queensland, Australia, to host a competition to test your knowledge of Unity Temple history!

Take the Quiz

A short, online quiz will be available throughout the month of May; contestants have the opportunity to win a beautiful wood display model of Unity Temple (value $800), a Unity Temple wood model kit (value $200), or free guided tours of Unity Temple (upon reopening to the public).

Heidi Ruehle, executive director of UTRF, states, “As COVID-19 continues to threaten the safety of people around the world, this activity provides a resource for architectural education while we shelter-in-place, as well as broadening awareness of UTRF’s mission to preserve Unity Temple, Frank Lloyd Wright’s modern masterpiece.”

The meticulously detailed replica accurately conveys Unity Temple’s compact but imposing volumes, from the flat roof and overhanging eaves that cloister the building to the extensive skylights that flood its interior with gentle light.

To be eligible for the gold prize, contestants must be members of Unity Temple Restoration Foundation - membership information at utrf.org/membership. UTRF membership is not required for silver and bronze prizes.
